The wall thickness of a pipe describes the distance between the inner and outer pipe diameters. It is therefore simply calculated as the difference between the outer diameter and the inner diameter, divided by two:

Wall thickness = (outer diameter – inner diameter) / 2

All pipe connectors are marked with a size specification that corresponds to the external diameter of the matching pipe.
Example: A size D – 42 mm connector is designed for pipes with an external diameter of 42 mm.
Please note that, due to its design, each connector has a slight amount of play, as the pipe is secured inside with an Allen screw. This means that pipes with a slightly smaller or larger diameter can usually also be fitted with a precise fit.

Yes, all pipe connectors are supplied with the appropriate Allen screws as standard. If required, you can also order additional Allen screws separately.

Our pipe connectors are available in various materials and finishes to meet a range of requirements:
Steel:
Available in

  • Black (powder-coated RAL9005), suitable for both indoor and outdoor use – for a modern, industrial design. Our tubes are protected by the durable KTL coating process. This gives them a beautiful and even matte finish.
  • Galvanised – with corrosion protection for indoor and outdoor use
  • Vintage Brown – with a special surface treatment for a rustic, antique look

Aluminium:

  • Raw – lightweight, corrosion-resistant and ideal for applications where weight is a factor
  • Black (powder-coated) – for an elegant, modern look

This way, you can find the right material and design option for every project – whether for furniture construction, exhibition stand construction, shelving systems

or industrial applications.

Our pipes are characterised by the durable KTL coating process. This gives them an attractive and uniform matt finish. In addition to this elegant finish, the tubes are also more resistant to scratches and damage and suitable for outdoor use.

Each Allen screw on a pipe connector can withstand a maximum slip load of up to 900 kg per screw, provided it is tightened to a torque of 40 Nm.
We accept no liability for the safety of the final design.

  • 21.3 mm tube diameter → G 1/8" x 10 mm BSP
  • 26.9 mm & 33.7 mm tube diameter → G 1/4" x 12.5 mm BSP
  • 42.4 mm, 48.3 mm & 60.3 mm tube diameters → G 3/8" x 12.7 mm (19 BSP)

Sticky protective coatings on connectors act as a protective film. They can be easily removed with petrol, cleaner or thinner.

Installation & Use

The pipe connectors are supplied with matching stainless steel Allen screws. Assembly is carried out exclusively by screwing using a standard Allen key, without drilling or welding.

All you need for assembly is a suitable Allen key – no other tools are required.

The appropriate Allen keys are not included in the scope of delivery.
To install the pipe connectors, you will need an Allen key of the following size – depending on the pipe diameter used:

  • For pipe connectors with a diameter of 21.3 mm: 1/8-inch Allen key
  • For pipe connectors with 26.9 mm, 28 mm and 33.7 mm: 1/4-inch Allen key
  • For pipe connectors with 40 mm, 42.4 mm, 48.3 mm and 60.3 mm: 3/8-inch Allen key

Please use the correct Allen key in each case to ensure the screws are tightened securely and to prevent damage.

Yes, our pipes can be cut to size without any problems. A metal saw or a pipe cutter is suitable for this. A pipe cutter produces particularly clean cuts, but can only be used on round pipes. After cutting, the cut edges should be deburred so that the pipe fits neatly into the connector.

For outdoor use, we recommend galvanised steel tubes and connectors or aluminium components, as they are particularly corrosion-resistant. Our KMT-coated (black) steel tubes are also suitable for outdoor use, as the robust powder coating provides reliable protection against the elements.

Yes. A difference in diameter of up to 1–2 mm can be compensated for using the integrated Allen screw in the connector – without compromising stability.

Due to manufacturing tolerances in pipes and connectors, a small gap may appear. This is normal and necessary to ensure that both parts can be easily assembled. The clearance is minimal and does not affect the stability of the structure.

The insertion depth depends on the type of joint and the pipe diameter. On average, the pipe is inserted approximately 2 to 3 cm into the connector. In most cases, the pipe is inserted until it meets the opposite pipe inside the connector (see illustration).
In practice, this means that the pipe diameter must be added to the total length, height or depth of the structure.
